Join the fight against childhood leukemia with Team Remembering Erin

Erin was an energetic and curious 2.5-year-old girl who tragically lost her life to Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Her parents, family, and friends are walking in the ABC 7 Gibbons Run on June 24 for Team Remembering Erin, to raise awareness about childhood leukemia and the importance of early detection.

It started when Erin’s parents noticed a red, painful abscess on her leg. They took her to the doctor, who prescribed antibiotics. Although the abscess seemed to be healing, Erin just didn’t seem right. She was tired with no appetite. The concerned parents were told to give the antibiotics time to work, but Erin’s condition continued to worsen.

Erin’s parents felt helpless and frustrated as their daughter’s health deteriorated. When she had what appeared to be a seizure, they rushed her to the emergency room, hoping for a quick diagnosis and treatment. However, the grim news they received was devastating – Erin had leukemia, and her little body had been fighting the disease without anyone knowing. Despite their heart-wrenching efforts, Erin never left the ER.

Erin’s parents want to spread awareness about childhood leukemia. They don’t want any other families to go through what they did, and hope to prevent it by raising awareness about the early symptoms of childhood leukemia.

They urge everyone to learn more about the signs and symptoms of childhood leukemia by visiting Childhood Leukemia.
