Gibbons - 2026 start - 300x200

Thank you to the nearly 1,000 runners, walkers, and volunteers who joined us in Chicago and virtually around the country for the 32nd Annual ABC7 Gibbons Run. The event is more than just about the miles – it’s about the friendships, memories, and the strength we find in each other. We are grateful to all. Every donation helps save lives and brings us closer to a world without leukemia.

Check out the photos from the event, as well as the onsite television interviews with patients, a researcher, and a board member!

Leukemia is a type of cancer found in the blood and bone marrow, which is caused by the rapid production of abnormal white blood cells.

There are several types of leukemia, including the four broad types, and each type can be either chronic or acute.

The causes, symptoms, and treatments vary for each, too, as well as how they are diagnosed.

Our latest program, “Immunotherapy Options for Leukemia Patients,” with experts from The Ohio State University and NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine, it is now available for screening or downloading.

You will learn what immunotherapy is and how it is different from chemotherapy and other treatments.

Leukemia Research Foundation has been such a valuable resource for information and support. The mission of this organization is near and dear to my heart; finding a cure. The research that they support may one day bring an end to leukemia. So many strides have been made by this organization’s research and it gives us all the hope and strength to keep trying to do more. I hope I live to see the cure, because I know it is coming.
