Leukemia Research Foundation News

You have the team. Let’s find the cure.

If your company is looking for a way to make an impact, consider forming a team for our ABC 7 Gibbons Run as we Lace Up for Leukemia!

Leukemia is a type of cancer that affects the blood and can affect both adults and children. It can be an emotionally and physically draining experience for those fighting the disease and their families.

Forming a team for the ABC 7 Gibbons Run is a great way to build team spirit and unity. As you know, opportunities to give back are important to companies and their employees. They help provide the three c’s of team building: collaboration, communication, and camaraderie.

Our 5K run/ 3K walk provides companies an easy way to engage employees in a giving activity that is beneficial for creating employee camaraderie and an opportunity to make a difference.

Ways to optimize your company team participation:

  • Register early, so you have time to allow employees to train for the run/walk. Inspire those who may be new to a 5K run or 3K walk to get ready for the big day.
  • Become a corporate sponsor. This allows a defined meeting place to gather before and after the event, as we will provide a tent just for you.
  • Personalize your team. Wear your company shirts and bring a banner for your company tent. Show your company spirit.
  • Celebrate your completion of the race. Offer incentives for those who finish first, those who raise the most funds, etc. It is a party with bragging rights!

Lace up for Leukemia with your team for a great way to get involved, raise awareness, and empower those dealing with leukemia.

So what are you waiting for? The ABC7 Gibbons Run is on Saturday, June 24 at 8:30am in Chicago’s Montrose Harbor.
