Make a Gift from Your Donor-Advised Fund
A simple and flexible way to support leukemia research
If you have a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF), you can recommend a grant to the Leukemia Research Foundation and help accelerate progress toward better treatments and a cure.
A DAF allows you to support the causes that matter most to you while simplifying your charitable giving.
How it works
A Donor-Advised Fund is a charitable giving account established through a sponsoring organization, such as a community foundation, financial institution, or other charitable organization.
Because you generally receive the applicable charitable tax benefit when you contribute assets to your DAF, you typically do not claim an additional charitable deduction when your DAF makes a grant to the Leukemia Research Foundation.
How make an impact with your Donor Advised Fund
Your Donor Advised Fund can help fuel the discoveries that bring us closer to a cure for leukemia. By recommending a grant to the Leukemia Research Foundation, you help fund innovative research and support patients and families affected by leukemia.
Making a gift is simple. Use the tool below to find your Donor Advised Fund provider and get started.
Make a Gift from Your IRA
A simple, tax-smart way to support leukemia research
If you are age 70½ or older, you may be able to make a gift directly from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to the Leukemia Research Foundation through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD).
A QCD can be an especially beneficial way to support innovative leukemia research while potentially reducing your taxable income.
How it works
A Qualified Charitable Distribution allows you to transfer funds directly from your IRA to the Leukemia Research Foundation.
If you are required to take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) from your IRA, your QCD can count toward satisfying all or part of that requirement. Unlike a regular IRA withdrawal, the amount distributed as a QCD is generally excluded from your taxable income.
How to make your gift
1. Contact your IRA administrator.
Ask your IRA custodian or financial institution to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution directly to the Leukemia Research Foundation.
2. Provide the Foundation's information.
Your IRA administrator may ask for the Foundation's legal name, mailing address and federal tax identification number.

3. Request a direct distribution.
To qualify as a QCD, the funds generally must be transferred directly from your IRA to the Leukemia Research Foundation rather than being distributed to you first.
4. Let us know about your gift.
IRA distributions sometimes arrive without the donor's name or contact information. Please let us know that you have requested a gift so we can properly acknowledge your generosity.
