Joey's Angels

Joey Mix was diagnosed with leukemia in February 1996 at the age of three and tragically passed away just six months later. In his memory, his parents and friends formed the Joey's Angels Chapter. Joey's favorite movie was Angels in the Outfield, which inspired the name of the chapter and their annual event, the Angels in the Fairway golf outing.

Thanks to the ongoing efforts of Joey's parents, and an ever-increasing legion of friends and supporters, the Chapter's marquee event has established itself as one of the most successful and largest charity golf attractions in the Chicagoland area. It is held each August and, since the chapter formed in 1997, has raised a stunning $3M.

In addition, in 2023 the Joey's Angels Chapter partnered with Bob Chinn's Crab House for the Bob & Jean Chinn Memorial Golf Outing benefiting the Joey’s Angels chapter of the Leukemia Research Foundation. The event was held in August at Royal Melbourne Country Club, with dinner at Bob Chinn’s Crab House.

During the winter months, join the Joey's Angels Chapter for its Ski Days events, held on Saturdays monthly during January, February, and March.
